What are plug earrings?

Plug earrings are ear jewelry of larger sizes, known as gauges, that can only be worn after you have sufficiently stretched your piercings, and they go all the way to 2 inches in diameter for those who wish to stretch a lot.

There are also fake ear plugs, a type of traditional earring that give the perception that you have stretched ears. Fake plugs are super easy to wear and quite comfortable. One end of the fake plug is fixed to the pin, while the other is screwed onto the free end, so you can be sure the fake plug earrings will stay safely in place.

If you’re confused about gauge plug sizes, see our ear gauge size chart.

What materials do our plug earrings come in?

For our plug earrings, you’ll find them made of standard stainless steel and precious metal plugs, as well as wood, stone, glass, acrylic, silicone, and many precious stones. Metal and glass are great for any ear, while other materials are for fully healed stretched ears.

Our fake plug earrings come in acrylic or wood, with the pin of stainless steel. The fake plugs come with various designs and patterns, with most of them having a fake “O” ring to give a realistic look to it.

What shapes/styles do our plug earrings come in?

The plug earrings come in all shapes and sizes – from the traditional circular plugs to teardrops, tunnel earrings, and even custom or unusual triangle or square shapes.

Our fake plug earrings are round and have different designs, from simple unicolour options to acrylic galaxies and floral patterns.

What is a plug earring?

Plug earrings are ear jewelry of larger sizes, known as gauges, that can only be worn after you have sufficiently stretched your pierced ears. We sell them all the way to 4 inches in diameter for those who wish to stretch a lot and can even make custom ones for larger sizes.

What size gauge will shrink back?

Ear stretching can be reversible but the size at which it becomes irreversible will be different for different people. Many piercers will say that stretching to 6mm (2g) to 8mm (0g) is reversible but there is always a chance they won't stretch back down fully.

Do fake plugs stretch your ears?

No - fake gauges / plugs do not stretch your ears. They fit into your regular piercing and give the illusion of having plugs.

How do you wear earring plugs?

Earring plugs can only be worn after stretching your ears which takes some time and care. Once you have stretched your ears, you can wear a range of different styles of plugs in the size you have stretched to.

What's the difference between plugs and tunnels?

Plugs are solid whereas tunnels have holes in them. Both come in a variety of shapes and materials.
