4 Gauge Plugs

Ear gauge sizes are tricky to figure out when you’re just starting to stretch your ears. Gauge sizes do not graduate from one small unit to the next bigger unit like millimeters or inches. In gauge sizing, the larger the number, the smaller the size.

Size 4 ear gauge is a predictably large size, which requires the intended wearer to carefully stretch from the tiny 18 gauge size (standard piercing) until they get to a 4 gauge.

Are you looking for 4 gauge ornaments or ear stretching kits to get to that size? At Custom Plugs, we have everything you need in a widely varied collection.

Our collection of 4 gauge plugs is widely varied since it spans every material and style. To make things even more interesting, we do engravings and other customizations to fit your specific style.

There's something for everyone, including precious and semi-precious stones, various metals (including rose gold), and one-of-a-kind and essential silicone plugs.

We also offer custom options with colors, patterns, and inscriptions if you want to personalize your 4 gauge ear plugs or buy them as a gift for a special someone. These options are especially appropriate for weddings and other special occasions.

What size is a 4 gauge plug?

On our chart and in converting using standard units, 4 gauge earrings in mm translates to 5 millimeters (mm) or 3/16 inches.

Since size 4 gauges in ears are relatively large compared to the 20 gauge or 18 gauge starting point, it is always advisable to stretch your earholes to fit the ornament.

For that, you will need ear stretching equipment and a chart to gradually stretch your ears out safely. With the medical-grade, high-quality accessories and tools we have, as well as knowing and following the best healing practices, you can get to your desired size comfortably.

What materials, shapes, and colors do 4 gauge plugs come in?

We have a wide variety of 4 gauge plugs materials to work with, including:

  • Glass
  • Silicone
  • Wood
  • Regular stone
  • Precious stones
  • Stainless steel
  • Acrylic

In terms of shapes, we have everything from the traditional circular types to more exotic variations like saddles, teardrops, squares, and more.

Our color selections do not disappoint either. We stock standard colors like red, black, blue, white, etc. However, we like to experiment too and have variations that combine colors or take the primary colors and give them a fresh look. Such exotic colors include the hues in precious stones or blends that produce smoky blacks, mystical greys, stunning reds, and more.

How big is a 4 gauge?

A 4 gauge plug is equal to 5 mm or 3/16 inches.

Does a 4 gauge hole close?

Your ears may never entirely close since the 4 gauge tunnels, plugs, or tapers you employed to expand the ear have healed around it. Keep in mind that the most you can hope for is a reduction in the size of the hole. If you had tears, inflammation, or blowouts, your ears may not shrink as much.
